Symptoms of Dry Eye include visual disturbances, ocular discomforts, dryness due to tear film instability. The pathogenic factors include increased osmolarity of tear film, inflammation of ocular surfaces and lacrimal glands.1 The clinical subtypes of DED include:<\/span><\/p><ul><li>Aqueous-deficient DED in which there is decreased tear secretion,<\/li><li>Evaporative DED in which there is increased tear evaporation<\/li><li>Mixed dry eye (combination of aqueous-deficient and evaporative dry eye). Aqueous-deficiency accounts for only about 10% of all Dry Eye patients.<sup>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/sup><\/li><li>Dry eye disease (DED) is becoming increasingly prevalent. Evidence has suggested the role of T-cell-mediated inflammation.<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Specifically, CD4<sup>+<\/sup> T-helper (TH1 and TH17) cells have been recognized as mediators of ocular inflammation in DED.<sup>4<\/sup> Lymphocytic infiltration into the ocular surface leads to release of\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0pro-inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, which damage the ocular tissues. Do not use Lifitegrast for a condition for which it was not prescribed. Do not give Lifitegrast to other people, even if they have the same symptoms you have. It may harm them.<\/p><p><strong>Before using, read the complete instructions carefully<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Secadrops<sup><small>TM<\/small><\/sup> is for use in the eye only.<\/li><li>Wash hands before each use to make sure to not to infect eyes while using <strong>Secadrops<sup><small>TM<\/small><\/sup> <\/strong><\/li><li>If contact lenses been worn , remove them before using <strong>Secadrops<sup><small>TM<\/small><\/sup><\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Secadrops<sup><small>TM<\/small><\/sup><\/strong> single-use containers are packaged in a foil pouch. Do not remove from the foil pouch until you are ready to use the medicine<\/li><li>Do not let the tip of the <strong>Secadrops<sup><small>TM<\/small><\/sup><\/strong>single-use container touch eye or any other surfaces.<\/li><li>Use 1 drop of <strong>Secadrops<sup><small>TM<\/small><\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0in each eye 2 times each day (1 drop in the morning and 1 drop in the evening, approximately 12 hours apart). Each single-use container of <strong>Secadrops<sup><small>TM<\/small><\/sup><\/strong> will give enough medicine to treat both eyes, 1 time.
